I am interested in the board secretary position

Armand Morrison currently serves as Vice President of emids, a healthcare consulting and technology firm serving the needs of the payer, provider, and technology services markets. He has been involved in healthcare IT for over 20 years and prides himself on leveraging technology to help his clients achieve the goals and objectives most important to them. Armand has been very active in the New York State chapter of HIMSS for several years and is currently the co-chair of the IT Leadership Committee where he has organized a group of chapter members that meet regularly to plan and coordinate educational sessions along with standing up a mentorship program designed to connect those chapter members earlier in their IT career with those more experienced members.  Additionally, Armand currently serves as the Western NY chapter liaison. Candidates Running for Director-at-Large Positions (2)

Eileen Achacoso
, PhD, MA, BSRN
Position: Board Director

My current position is Director Information Services at NYC Health & Hospitals in Clinical Information Systems.

In a previous life, I worked as a nurse in Women’s Health and Staff Development. The implementation of an electronic medical record, Shared Medical Systems gave me my first taste of I.T. with the hospital MIS Department. I met a Nurse Informaticist and realized I needed a career change.

I have worked on the Hospital side of Clinical Information Technology for the last 10 years. Prior to H&H, I have worked in IT for several well-known vendors (Siemens, HillRom, Ethicon J&J) and several start-up companies, for more than 10 years.

I have always been an advocate for educating nurses about Information Technology and the value of data. I joined HIMSS to collaborate, network, and learn more about I.T. from other members. I joined the NYS HIMSS Chapter to participate more in the field of IT; and I joined the NYS HIMSS Chapter Nursing Committee as a commitment to promoting Nursing I.T., engaging nurses interested in I.T., and to learn more.

My interest in being a Board Director is to participate in and support our State Chapter initiatives, to learn more about our Chapter, to educate and promote membership to new IT staff, and to network with other members.
